The annual Kids Fun Run with Puffing Billy took place on a rainy morning in Gembrook on the 26th of November, however the gloomy weather certainly didn’t quell the enthusiasm of over 300 young runners!
The event, hosted by Rotary Club of Emerald & District in partnership with Puffing Billy Railways saw children aged three to 12 race against the iconic steam train with trophies and plenty of exciting prizes up for grabs.
Families also enjoyed face painting, joy rides on Puffing Billy, and the chance to hang out with a group of Storm Troopers!
We are thrilled to announce that the event raised $43,000 for Monash Children’s Cancer Centre and will be allocated toward the area of greatest need across the two wards.
This impressive total would not have been possible without the hard work of Rotary, Puffing Billy Railways and of course, all the participants, fundraisers and their families and friends.
Congratulations to all the race winners – it was a spectacular day out and we can’t wait to join in the fun next year!
