Christmas at Monash Children’s Hospital

Monash Health Foundation coordinated the collection and distribution of gifts to children across our locations, including those spending Christmas Day at Monash Children’s Hospital in Clayton, Dandenong and Casey, along with those accessing some of our community services and programs over the festive season.

We were overwhelmed with the response to our toy collection, and simply couldn’t have achieved our goal of spreading joy across our many children’s wards without the generous donations from the public and various community groups.

The Foundation would like to extend a special mention to Moose Toys, The Country Fire Authority (CFA), Fit Body Fit Mind, The 5 Loaves Initiative and the hundreds of Coles Customers who donated toys.

Thank you to our wonderful corporate volunteers from Moose Toys, Hinkler, BGIS and Charter Keck Cramer who spent a day (or two!) with us during December at our Dandenong warehouse sorting, packing and distributing toys in time for Christmas Day.

But wait – there was more Christmas cheer to be spread at Monash Children’s Hospital during December!

Thank you to Hawthorn Football Club who alongside their sponsor Joie, donated several newborn bassinets, strollers and other essential equipment to our social services team to ensure some of our most vulnerable families have everything they need to care for their new arrivals.

Karen Allsop attended several of our Children’s wards to create some of her magnificent ‘Christmas Wish’ photographs, creating magical memories for young patients and their families.

Of course, our festive celebrations wouldn’t be complete without a visit from Santa and his helpers on Christmas morning.

Thank you again to our wonderful community – without your generosity, none of this would be possible.
